Caminetto: ***Rusticated Hawkbill (08) (AT) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0652
The Hawkbill is a popular shape among fans of the Italian tradition, and this rendition from Caminetto makes it easy to see why. Tommaso "Tommi" Ascorti, who's grandfather Guiseppe Ascorti founded the artisan workshop, presents a deep, Egg-like bowl that then lifts upward into an arching shank, a profile maintained as the stem tapers to complete the classic shape. The bowl wears a stimulating rustication, while the extra-robust shank, broader than it is tall, is finished smooth, both elements commended by a light stain for a lighthearted aesthetic. It's stamped "AT" to denote the workmanship is Tommi's alone, and he managed to compress this piece into Nosewarmer proportions for excellent portability.
