This rendition of the Hawkbill shape from Caminetto, like many from the Italian workshop, features an abbreviated shank-and-stem arrangement, producing a compact design that comes in under five inches in total length, ideal for jaw-hanging and on-the-go smoking. Otherwise, all the requisite components associated with the design are present: the full-bodied, voluptuous bowl; plump heel; gracefully arcing shank; and abbreviated, tapered stem making a subtle downturn. This piece wears one of the Caminetto's gorgeous, honey-blonde smooth finishes, highlighting the flowing, tight-bands of flame grain on all sides of the bowl and the handsome birdseye across the rim and top of the shank. A sterling silver accent marks the junction between shank and stem, adding a subtle dose of regal flash that furthers the splendid visual appeal of this piece.
