A utilitarian, handy pipe, this rather compact Cherrywood from Tommi Ascorti features a broad-based, flattened heel that allows it to sit perfectly, with the bowl reflecting a gradual taper toward the fumed rim. Dressed in Caminetto's New Dear "melting wax" carving style that's mostly seen in Italian pipe making, this chestnut-hued pipe has lots to offer: a deep chamber, handy proportions and plenty of visual and textural appeal. It also has the makings of a perfect desktop pipe.
