Caminetto: New Dear Bent Billiard with Silver (07) (AT) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0675
Quite a plump bent Billiard rendition, this pipe from Caminetto features a tall bowl with a fairly bulbous waistline, married here to a strikingly angled shank. At the end of this shank we see a domed silver mount, not only rounding out the design, literally, but also acting to bolster the demurely curved stem which is attached in the traditional mortise/tenon manner. There's a kind of elegance about this piece, with a refined sense of line to its overall shaping, hearkening back to the classic shape charts of the of Anglo-French marques, though with a dosage of Neoclassical flair added in. Of course, one of the most striking elements of this pipe is the finish, with the Ascortis choosing to apply their incredibly craggy New Dear finish, staining the majority of the stummel a light, virgin tan, with the rim given a fumed look, darkening it significantly.
