Caminetto: Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Silver (06) (AR) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-011-0697

Caminetto is a brand built on wordplay, established by Giuseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice. In Italian camino means "fireplace" or "chimney," the words having obvious elements in common with pipes, and "Caminetto" being the diminutive form of the word. As such, Ascorti, Radice, and Gianni Davoli, who marketed Caminetto pipes, became known as I tre Camini, "The three chimneys," and with the brand's distinct logo and the three men's own mustaches, Caminetto's slogan was obvious enough — La Pipa del Baffo, "The Pipe with the Mustache." Offered here is a muscular, gestural bent Dublin interpretation, with the gracefully arching aquiline shank and abbreviated, tapered stem reminiscent of the Hawkbill shape, though with less bend and a far less dramatic stature. The light-depth sandblast offers a wealth of intriguing texture, and some lovely rippling growth rings across the strikingly flared bowl, while the inky black stain of the briar is sharply contrasted by a band of silver at the shank end. Despite this piece's bold proportions, it's a conveniently sized rendition and measures just over five and a half inches in total length, promising comfort no matter your preferred smoking style.
