Italian pipe making often re-interprets English classics by dramatizing the proportions and finishes or occasionally melding two or more shapes into one design. Caminetto frequently embraces those aesthetics, some of which can be seen in this bent Billiard. The towering, gently rounded bowl bears a strong resemblance to the Egg shape with its gradual taper toward the rim from a plump base. It's set to a firm, crisply lined rectangular shank that's then topped by push-style, acrylic stem. A great Sitter, this sturdy pipe wears one of the Ascortis' ruby-tinged sandblasts, revealing some exceptional growth rings beneath, while the smooth rim, shank flanks and face are all stained a complementing color.
