Caminetto: Nera Paneled Billiard with Silver (05) (AR) Tobacco Pipe

Caminetto's Nero finish is one we have seldom seen from the Italian workshop, and the straight Paneled Billiard is a shape which we've only received a handful of times. Of course, we've never seen the two together, until now, making this piece quite the rarity for enthusiasts of the Ascorti's work. Four firm panels make up the bowl of this Billiard, with the apexes of each one being rounded more so than angled, creating a softer sort of look than most classical "Foursquare" type paneled Billiards. The shank, however, is quite crisply ridged and much more defined than the bowl, and its end is adorned with a trim band of silver which serves as the junction between shank and stem. Said stem is a lithe, solid saddle that keeps the shape of the shank and offers a bit of svelteness to the overall shape, contrasting its relative muscularity. The stummel is deeply stained an inky black, matching the acrylic stem and giving the silver band an enhanced presence amidst the darkness of the rest of the palette.
