Caminetto: Rusticated Bent Stack with Boxwood (Moustache) (08) (AR) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0708
When Roberto Ascorti's father Guiseppe started crafting pipes at Castello in 1959, perhaps no one suspected he would go on to become known worldwide for the quality and fine workmanship of his creations. Now, however, the Ascorti family's artisanal tradition is part of Italian pipe-making history, with Roberto and his own son Tommaso producing some of the finest pieces in Italy. This bent Stack from Caminetto is an excellent standard-bearer of the workshop's quality, boasting a nearly three-inch tall bowl, and wearing a deep rustication in ruby-chestnut hues. The check mark-like shape bears a slightly bulbous heel, like a quiet declaration of pride, and a pale accent ring around the base of the stem provides an elegant contrast. The acrylic saddle stem is turned just the slightest bit downward, coyly delineating this rendition as a bent shape.
