Caminetto: Sandblasted Bent Brandy (06) (AT) Tobacco Pipe

As I look upon this bent Brandy from Caminetto, I'm immediately reminded of the Hawkbill shape, as the shank and stem take on an extremely gentle aquiline curve from the transition. This has more of a visual impact than anything else, but that impact is great, as it allows the ovoid combination to more effectively balance the visual weight of the bowl. There's an additional subtle taper through this combination, serving to slenderize the aft side of this piece and add further visual intrigue to the already alluring shank and stem. At the bowl we see a plump and welcoming Brandy shape, with a curving taper to the rim that ensures a comfortable feel in hand, while the wide transition allows for easy thumb draping. A crisp auburn sandblast dresses the stummel here, revealing some rather stunning ring grain cascading down the walls of the bowl, with textural contrast offered by a band of smooth briar at the shank end.
