In the late 1960s, two Castello pipe makers, Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, left to found their own workshop, Caminetto. Their skilled craftsmanship grew Caminetto into one of the most popular marques of the 1970s and beyond. This bent Stack by Caminetto is quite compact but features a towering bowl that houses a chamber boasting over two and a half inches of depth, ideal for long smoking sessions. Furthermore, the bowl provides a terrific canvas to showcase lengthy tendrils of flame grain on the thick, insulating walls and freckles of birdseye on the underside. Out back, the cylindrical shank brings balance to the composition, while still letting the bowl take center stage. Additionally, the abbreviated saddle stem demurely bends back to parallel, keeping the profile trim and providing a comfortable clench.
