Caminetto: New Dear Billiard (07) (AT) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0796
The Caminetto workshop was founded by Luigi Radice and Guiseppe Ascorti in the late 1960s, the pair establishing the brand after a lengthy tenure with Castello. Caminetto pipes quickly became a success, their unique design language cementing them as one of Italy's most respected makers. They've become especially renowned for their craggy rustications, with many of their pipes showcasing highly textural carving across their stummels. This Billiard is an angular, Stack-like pipe that boasts an impressively tall bowl, its walls standing atop a firm, low-set waistline and tapering subtly toward the rim. An imposing presence in hand, the bowl is paired to a fairly slim shank that pushes out from a wide transition, here paired to a sleekly tapering stem of jet-black acrylic. The stummel here is dressed in Caminetto's coveted New Dear finish, a carved rustication with a fluid pattern reminiscent of dripping wax and a light, tan stain that boasts a fumed rim for rich contrast.
