Caminetto: Rusticated Bent Billiard (08) (AT) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0803
In the late 1960s, two Castello pipe makers, Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, left to found their own workshop, Caminetto. Their skilled craftsmanship grew Caminetto into one of the most popular marques of the 1970s and beyond. This pipe from Caminetto toes-the-line between bent Billiard and Volcano. The bowl's walls present a sleek, Billiard-esque taper to the chamfered rim, but the low-set waistline is framed by a subtle ridge, hinting at the classic construction of a Volcano. The intriguing shaping is accentuated further by the partial rustication that dresses the bowl's walls and the chestnut smooth finish that adorns the heel, shank, and rim. Furthermore, the stummel is paired to a high-kicking tapered stem fashioned from jet-black acrylic, which promotes comfortable jaw-hanging.
