Caminetto: Smooth Bent Bulldog Sitter (03) (AT) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-011-0808

The Caminetto workshop was founded by Luigi Radice and Giuseppe Ascorti in the late 1960s, the pair establishing the brand after a lengthy tenure with Castello. Caminetto pipes quickly became a success, their unique design language cementing them as one of Italy's most respected makers. They've become especially renowned for their craggy rustications, with many of their pipes showcasing highly textural carving across their stummels. A robust, muscular shape, the bent Bulldog is a profile that boasts ample firmness throughout its silhouette, one which is defined by a diamond-shaped shank-and-stem combination. That iconic feature is well-represented in this example, here lifting gently out of a wide transition to meet a sleek stem of black acrylic that's gently downturned for comfortable smoking. The heel has been flattened on this example, a rare shaping cue across Caminetto's bent Bulldogs, and it allows the pipe to sit stably without the need of a stand. The bowl's walls flare out gently from this heel and expand to a pair of crisp beadlines at a high-set waist, additionally marking a swift taper to the rim. Dressed in a deep, chestnut-tinged stain, the stummel showcases handsome grain and a serious, timeless aesthetic.
