Caminetto: Smooth Poker (02) (AT) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0841
In the late 1960s, two Castello pipe makers, Giuseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, left to found their own workshop, Caminetto. Their skilled craftsmanship grew Caminetto into one of the most popular marques of the 1970s and beyond. This Poker by Caminetto features a stocky bowl that flares from its firm, flat heel to its broad, flat rim. Said bowl is paired to a trim shank and a slender saddle stem, the latter of which promotes a comfortable clench. In typical Italian neoclassical fashion, the bowl holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its height and sturdy posture overshadowing the comparatively lithe shank-and-stem arrangement. Dressing this piece is a honey-blonde smooth finish that highlights gorgeous grain across the briar's surface.
