Caminetto: Rusticated Bent Dublin (08) (AT) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-011-0854
The Caminetto workshop was founded by Luigi Radice and Guiseppe Ascorti in the late 1960s, the pair establishing the brand after a lengthy tenure with Castello. Caminetto pipes quickly became a success, their unique design language cementing them as one of Italy's most respected makers. They've become especially renowned for their craggy rustications, with many of their pipes showcasing highly textural carving across their stummels. This bent Dublin is a striking take on the shape, though one possessed of an understated curvature through the shank and stem combination. Said shank and stem push out of a wide transition, with the shank lifting softly near the end to meet a lengthy saddle stem of demurely curved jet-black acrylic. Up front, the bowl stands on a heel that's pointed slightly at the fore, drawing the eye forward and toward the bowl's flaring walls as they expand up toward a flat rim. Dressed in a craggy rustication and a deep stain, the stummel offers plenty of texture to appreciate, with contrast offered by the smooth rim.
