Caminetto: Rusticated Bent Billiard (08) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-011-0860

The Caminetto workshop was founded by Luigi Radice and Guiseppe Ascorti in the late 1960s, the pair establishing the brand after a lengthy tenure with Castello. Caminetto pipes quickly became a success, their unique design language cementing them as one of Italy's most respected makers. They've become especially renowned for their craggy rustications, with many of their pipes showcasing highly textural carving across their stummels. This bent Billiard is certainly a neoclassical piece, with a robust bowl that draws the eye to the fore thanks to its impressive heartiness. Said bowl stands atop a firm, slightly pronounced heel and grows thick walls up to a flat rim, these walls nicely insulating a capacious chamber while offering enough curvature to be comfortable in hand. A wide transition pairs the bowl to a sleekly tapering shank and stem combination, where the stem's comparatively reserved stretch of black acrylic takes on a demure downturn at the bit. Dressed in a craggy rustication, the stummel is rich with texture throughout, its dark stain contrasted nicely by a pale accent band at the junction.
