Caminetto: Sandblasted Rhodesian (06) (AT) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-011-0868

The Caminetto workshop was founded by Luigi Radice and Guiseppe Ascorti in the late 1960s, the pair establishing the brand after a lengthy tenure with Castello. Caminetto pipes quickly became a success, their unique design language cementing them as one of Italy's most respected makers. They've become especially renowned for their craggy rustications, with many of their pipes showcasing highly textural carving across their stummels. This Rhodesian is a unique design from the workshop, coming in at nearly six and a half inches long and showcasing a straight outline rather than the more commonly seen bent varieties. The shank here flares out of a wide transition, its broad face met by a long saddle stem whose base is smaller than the shank is broad, making for an intriguing area of negative space that nicely balances the presence of the bowl. Said bowl stands atop a firm, pronounced heel and grows walls that flare as they reach to a pair of beadlines at a mid-set waistline, these lines additionally marking a sleek taper to the rim. Dressed in a crisp sandblast and a warm, auburn-tinged stain, the stummel is rich with texture and showcases handsome grain throughout.
