Caminetto: Quadrato Smooth Reverse Calabash Apple (03) (AR) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-011-0881

The Caminetto workshop was founded by Luigi Radice and Guiseppe Ascorti in the late 1960s, the pair establishing the brand after a lengthy tenure with Castello. Caminetto pipes quickly became a success, their unique design language cementing them as one of Italy's most respected makers. They've become especially renowned for their craggy rustications, with many of their pipes showcasing highly textural carving across their stummels. Caminetto's Quadrato series is an extremely unique one, comprising compact, muscular, reverse Calabash designs that are unified by their unique shank and stem arrangement. The shanks themselves are surrounded by a quartet of firm panels, the line's namesake feature, and showcase a thick construction to hold an ample condensation chamber. This bent Apple example is a robust Nosewarmer, with a tight-knit construction and an impressive presence in hand, its hearty shank and stem combination balancing a supple bowl up front. Said bowl stands on a rounded heel and a low-set waistline, growing delightfully curvaceous walls that taper with a comfortable arc as they grow to the rim, offering plenty of comfort in hand. The transition is wide and the shank tapers slightly as it reaches the stem, placing further emphasis on the bowl's rotund walls and the handsome grain they showcase beneath the stummel's warm stain.
