Castello: Collection Occhio di Pernice Cherrywood (KK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-2242
It's charming... it's compact... it's whimsical... but what exactly is it? That would be Castello's "89" full-bent Poker/Cherrywood, a shape we've only seen a handful of times over the years. As rare as it is, it's a shape you just can't forget, as it cuts one of the most playful silhouettes across the workshop's entire lineup. This Collection grade is a fine example, pairing a tall, cylindrical bowl up to a high-set, extra stout transition, an abbreviated, angled shank, and one of the marque's fancier styles of mouthpieces for a whimsical desk pipe that sits with aplomb. It's a pretty rare treat to even find one of these designs, much less one wearing one of Castello's higher-tiered designations. Yet that's what we see here: the "89" as an Occhio di Pernice, a designation reserved for only the most exceptional displays of birdseye grain.
