Displaying the famous profile of Castello's "55" shape, this bent Pot is quite simply a thing of beauty. Though the Italian workshop elected to decrease the overall size of this specific piece, there is still plenty of canvas on which to display the breathtaking flame grain that streaks every facet of the piece's surface, seeming to break the the plane of the rim in the form of a natural plateau. It's a stunning iteration of a shape that has made Castello an icon when it comes to Italian neoclassic shaping.
