Castello: Collection Great Line Bent Dublin (07) (1982)
Product Number: 002-386-3235
There's always a number of projects in the works at the Cantù workshop of Castello, some of which take decades to complete. Take this one, the likes of which began all the way back in 1982, when this block was first purchased, then set aside to age. Originally intended to be made into one of Castello's heralded "Flame" pipes, this block aged for thirty-five years before if was instead selected for this special series of Great Lines. I'd say the results of this Collection Great Line speak for themselves, with a vast display of feathery flame and undulating plateau, all dressing a rather lively Italian bent Dublin shape. Each and every one of these special pipes comes from Castello in its own fitted presentation box, making these "must haves" for the Castello collector. Nothing short of stellar, even for a maker with a reputation as fine as the folks at Castello.- Daniel Bumgardner
