Castello: Collection Fiammata Great Line Bent Dublin (34) (1982)
Product Number: 002-386-3298
The Castello workshop is known for taking on some pretty out-there projects. Sure, they have their normal production briars, but there's also a more special array of projects, like this one, which started back in 1982.
Indeed, the original block for this piece was chosen back in the early 80s, set aside to be aged for later use. Originally intended to be made into one of Castello's heralded "Flame" pipes, this block aged for thirty-five years before if was instead selected for this special series of Great Lines. A dramatic Freehand bent Dublin, this fellow sports some seriously choice flame and birdseye alike, coupled with a crown of handsome plateau. It's all dressed in a dark, rich contrast, bringing out the most of this special block's natural beauty. As with all of pipes in the Castello Great Line 1982 series, this one will come in its own fitted presentation box. A "must have" for the Castello Collector.- Daniel Bumgardner
