Castello: Old Sea Rock Paneled Bent Dublin (KKKK)

Product Number: 002-386-3592

While we've seen Castello craft quite a few paneled pipes over the years, they've primarily been presented in the form various Billiard variants but never as a Dublin — until now. The bowl exhibits a strong degree of implied forward momentum in profile, expertly continuing the flow of the slightly elongated transition. The broad rim is perfectly square in its shaping, the firm ridgelines trickling down to the bowl's flanks and wrapping around to create the V-shaped panels. Said panels give the shape a firm, sturdy feel in hand and help make this example a stand-out piece within the Italian workshop's vast portfolio, especially thanks to the addition of a jet-black acrylic military mount at the end of the shank. It's thoroughly recognizable as the work of Castello, dressed in the Italian workshop's iconic Sea Rock Briar rustication which wears a light stain apart from the top of the bowl and rim having been "fumed" at the workshop for a rustic appeal that's typical within the Italian school.
