Castello: Old Antiquari Bent Apple (KK)

Product Number: 002-386-3603

While Castello doesn't stamp shape numbers on their pipes anymore, this robust, plump-bowled bent Apple is highly reminiscent of their "63" design. The bowl is remarkably squat and broad, emphasizing breadth over height yet still remaining delightful in hand. The area around the transition has been lent some additional, reinforcing briar that expertly continues the heartiness of the bowl. Said shank then quickly leads to a high-kicking saddle stem, its deep bend able to provide an easy hands-free smoking experience. The stummel has then been treated to the workshop's Old Anitquari sandblast, unveiling a plethora of rippling ring grain underneath the warm, earthy brown stain. Its compact proportions also make it an ideal choice for fans of Italian pipes but who desire a pipe that is more easily manageable compared to many other bowl-centric designs produced by Italian pipemakers.
