Castello: Collection Great Line Bent Dublin (27) (1982)
Product Number: 002-386-3747
Castello is already known for aging their briar for 10 years before fashioning their normal fare of smokers — it's one of the reasons so many people are drawn to and fall in love with Castello pipes and their smoking qualities. For the Collection Great Line, though, the Italian workshop set aside these blocks of briar back in 1982, affording these pipes over three decades' worth of aging and curing. This particular bent Dublin is bold and very much Italian neoclassic in its shaping, the tapered stem and diamond shank transitioning into a bold, flaring, deep-chambered bowl that's crowned with a rim of generous plateau. Offered here in a handsome, walnut contrast stain, an absolutely gorgeous array of flame grain streaks across the flanks. Coming complete with its own presentation box, this is a piece for the discerning Castello collector.-Truett Smith
