Castello: 'Castello' Bent Egg with Silver Cap (19.75)
Product Number: 002-386-3855
Though typically army mounts are fashioned from metal, Castello does some exceptional interpretations with acrylic, like the one seen on this bent Egg. Not only does the jet-black acrylic contrast beautifully with the workshop's smooth shaping and dark contrast stain, but the mount also allows this piece to be taken apart easily and while the stummel is still warm. Shape-wise, this bent Egg corresponds to the "93" design on the Italian workshop's shape chart with a towering, bulbous bowl paired to a sinuously bent shank and stem combination. However, what makes this particular example special is its sterling silver cap, emblazoned with Castello's castle logo on the top. Along with its stunning aesthetics, the cap will guard against any rim darkening and can be used to preserve a packed bowl for later.- Jeffery Sitts
