Castello's "26" shape is sometimes referred to as the "Pomo," meaning "apple" in English and is characterized by a broad, supple bowl, a slight 1/8 bend in the stem, and a touch of sweeping gesture to the transition. The chubby bowl offers a delightful feel in hand and commands the majority of the piece's visual weight in relation to the tapering shank and softly downturned stem. This Trademark iteration displays a more jutting style of heel in the way it protrudes subtly out from the base — which, surprisingly, makes for a much more natural feel in hand. A spiral style of grooved carving dominates the bowl's flanks for enhanced visual interest and tactile satisfaction. It's dressed in a smoky walnut stain and paired to an acrylic stem of deep, purple plum tones.
