Castello: Aristocratica Great Line Bent Dublin
Product Number: 002-386-4022
Castello's Aristocratica finish hearkens back to an exclusion production from 1968 to 1979 when the workshop's founder, Carlo Scotti, fashioned a select number of pipes to gift his close friends and associates. Though this Great Line bent Dublin isn't one of those specific pieces, it still boasts the same darkened rim and expert craftsmanship as those original designs, paying homage to Scotti's generosity and continuing his legacy. This piece features a bold, flaring bowl that dominates the profile in relation to the more slender shank-and-stem combination. The soaring, deep-chambered bowl is topped by a crown of dimpled plateau, which blends perfectly with the upper bowl's darker stain. Below the fumed rim, the stain becomes lighter and warmer, both hues evoking a rustic, weathered appearance. A stellar piece from the venerated workshop and a must-have piece for any Castello collector.- Jeffery Sitts
