Castello: Sea Rock Briar Bent Pot (GGG) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-4220
There's hardly a more iconic Castello design than the Cantù workshop's "55" bent Pot, a shape whose profile should be instantly recognizable by anyone who has seen it even just once. Broad and solid, yet strikingly dynamic, it's easy to see how this singular shape has become one of the most favored among Castello collectors — and why it's been so often copied by other makers and marques. This offering is a particularly massive and hearty interpretation as denoted by the workshop's "GGG" stamp, one of Castello's largest size designations. It's an immensely substantial rendition, offering an impressively broad and deep tobacco chamber as well as extra surface area to appreciate the rugged texture of the Sea Rock rustication. The wide, flat rim is polished smooth and stained a lighter hue to contrast the rest of the stummel's dark stain and to highlight all of the lovely birdseye that adorns its surface.- Andrew Wike
