Generously proportioned, this palm-filling bent Pot from Castello is stunning in its line work and shaping, but that's de rigueur for the acclaimed Italian marque. The broad, round bowl displays the iconic jutting heel associated with the old "55" shape, while the shank and stem feature gradual tapering from transition to bit, another shaping cue embraced by Castello. The bowl commands the form's visual weight, the aforementioned shank-and-stem arrangement providing a pleasant balance and supporting role in this fine Sitter. Perhaps what most catches the eye, though, is the stellar grain, with fiery licks of dense flame grain across the bowl and sides of the shank competing for attention against beautiful birdseye freckling the rim, heel base and top of the shank. Add to that the gorgeous honey-blonde stain of the "Castello" finish enveloping the stummel and this Pot is simply phenomenal.
