Castello: Le Dune Bent Pot (GGG) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-4243
No Castello collection is complete without the Italian workshop's iconic "55" bent Pot shape. The design is defined by its gentle bend, protruding heel, and thick-walled bowl, and is a perfect representation of the Italian neoclassical design, drawing focus to the piece's bowl through the use of forward-ushering lines and imbalance of visual weight. It's seen here in the workshop's distinctive Le Dune finish that's defined by a carved, telescoping pattern that resembles reptilian scales or overlapping sections of scalloped armor. The striking finish adds an even stronger sense of forward momentum to the overall composition — the ridgelines being tight-knit at the shank end, gradually picking up speed and spacing as they sweep upward through the transition. It's also one of Castello's most textured finishes, rivaled only by, perhaps, their Sea Rock rustication. For those drawn to eye-catching, stylized smokers and intriguing finishes, this uncommon rendition is a standout piece, supported by Castello's sterling reputation for craftsmanship.
