Castello: Trademark Bent Billiard (KK) Tobacco Pipe

Though Castello no longer stamps their pipes with a shape number, this style of bent Billiard resembles the "65" design. It showcases a firm-heeled, cylindrical style of bowl, but what I find so distinct is the shank and stem combination: An elegant taper informs the shank's lithe, upward curl from the transition, leading into the slender, tapered stem — the flowing curves immediately identifiable as the work of the esteemed Italian workshop. This particular piece wears a traditional, walnut stain and smooth finish for superlative grain orientation.
