Castello: Aristocratica Cherrywood Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-4411
Between the years of 1968 and 1979, Carlo Scotti crafted a number of special pipes for his close friends and companions, which he deemed the "Aristocratica," birthing this line of pipes from Castello in honor of those designs and their founder. This Cherrywood has an asymmetrical ridge of plateau that runs across the fumed rim, giving it a dark, worn color, contrasting with the bright, warm auburn stain. The broad, flattened heel allows the piece to sit sturdily, emphasizing the elegant balance of the craftsmanship. Out back, the shank meets the transition low, and as it flares upwards, it undulates slightly, with bits of the shank protruding on the underside. The black acrylic stem makes a gentle arc for a relaxed smoking position off the asymmetrical shank face, which is adorned with its own bit of plateau.--Davin Hylton
