Castello: Old Antiquari Bent Dublin (G) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-4633
Fashioned from select briar that's been aged for at least 10 years, Castello pipes have commanded a large, loyal following since its founding in 1947 by Carlo Scotti. Each handmade piece is hewn by one of the workshop's artisans, ensuring quality and top-notch craftsmanship. This bent Dublin is a fine example of Castello's artistic vision. Bearing a "G" stamp, denoting its large size, the towering bowl of this pipe houses a remarkable chamber depth while a slender, rounded heel is displayed below. A high-set transition out back brings to mind the Oom Paul shape, especially as the bowl is paired to a nearly vertical shank and stem arrangement, the latter downturned slightly for a comfortable smoking posture. It's dressed in an earthy and rustic version of the workshop's Old Antiquari sandblast, with the rim smoothly stained for contrast.-Angela Robertson
