Castello: Trademark Bent Dublin (G) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-386-4634

This particular bent Dublin seems to be a fairly new shape for Castello, though, given its very Italian Neoclassical aesthetic and singular silhouette, it's hard not to fall in love at first sight. In the rear of this pipe a push-mounted acrylic stem of jet black meets an acrylic military mount of the same hue, keeping things more trim before meeting the shank which flares gradually into the transition. The shank is dramatically arced from the transition as well, setting both it and the stem in a striking trajectory that, combined with the stem's downturn, gives this piece a look not unlike that of a saxophone, or perhaps the long division symbol, or a modified check-mark. I digress. The bowl is fairly conical, with perhaps a touch of flare imbued, and urges forward, standing proudly on its pronounced heel with a good deal of implied momentum behind it. Something I haven't addressed yet is the size of this piece, though, as it bears a "G" stamp, it is certainly large. At under five inches long, the pipe stays somewhat compact, though with a bowl height of over two-and-a-half inches, it still manages to present with a very capacious chamber. Dressed in Castello's Trademark finish, this bent Dublin is swathed a deep chestnut contrast stain, one that brings out a stunning sea of birdseye on the left flank, cross grain on the top and fore, and a sunburst-birdseye pattern on the right flank.
