This Pot, like Castello's famed "55" shape, boasts a jutting, chin-like heel that supports a bowl of seriously stout proportions. The bowl's thick insulating walls house a respectably deep chamber and offer plenty of substance for the fingers to embrace. The bowl, in typical Italian neoclassical style, holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its muscular build overshadowing the comparatively slender shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. Castello's Collection smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights a handsome showing of flame grain that flows across the flanks of the bowl to a rim populated with birdseye.
