Castello: Aristocratica Canadian Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-4808
Castello's "33" Brucianaso Canadian is a unique interpretation of the classic shape which maintains the relative proportions of more standard variations, though shortens the composition remarkably. Though the word Brucianaso roughly translates to "nose scorch," this pipe isn't quite a nosewarmer, coming in at over five and a half inches long, though it's still fairly compact and handy. The bowl here is quite striking and it would be easy to mistake it for that of a Pot, as it's possessed of a remarkable breadth that nearly overshadows its height, a very slight taper to the rim through its thick, insulating walls contributing to a comfortable feel in hand. The transition is more than wide enough to drape a digit and sees the shank ebbing out of it at a consistent taper through to the button of the stem, its flanks marked by a firm ridgeline that accentuates its compressed, ovoid shape. Dressed in the unique and iconic Aristocratica finish, the lower bowl and shank are covered in a warm auburn stain that reveals some lovely grain throughout, while the upper bowl and plateau-crowned rim are dressed in smoky black for a fumed look.
