Castello: Collection Great Line Bent Dublin (KKK) Tobacco Pipe

At under six inches long, this bent Dublin is a good bit more compact than one would expect from pipes of Castello's Great Line, though its designation is well-earned thanks to the bowl's dramatic presence at the fore of this piece. In comparison, the shank and stem are positively willowy, comprising a sleek taper from the transition that further emphasizes the presence of the bowl itself, their high-reaching posture ensuring a comfortable smoke and lending a poised posture. The bowl here sits atop a rounded, pronounced heel, rising monumental with a striking flare to a plateau-crowned rim and filling the hand with its soft curves. This bowl, despite its stunning breadth, is actually rather narrow, compressed at the flanks to create an ovoid outline at the rim. The impressive expanse of briar here is an excellent canvas for the warm, auburn hues of the Collection finish, unveiling dense wisps of flame grain that wrap around its surfaces.
