Castello: Collection Great Line Bent Dublin (KKK) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-386-4849

Castello is no stranger to fitting its pipes with lengthy stems, though we've yet to see a member of their Great Line paired to one, making this bent Dublin a special piece indeed. The demi-Churchwarden stem married to this pipe extends the overall length here to almost seven and a half inches and its willowy expanse of silver and grey acrylic fits into a military mount of the same material, allowing this pipe to be broken down at any time, even when hot. The shank here is quite trim and sharply upturned to meet this mount, closing in the transition a touch, though still leaving plenty of room to drape a thumb. Balanced at the end of this combination of shank and stem is a robust bowl that rises to over two inches in height, taking on a forward-urging flare from a rounded, pronounced heel. This flare is compressed at the flanks, making for a narrower feel in hand that's still quite comfortable thanks to the soft curves with which the Italian workshop has imbued the walls. A broad crown of plateau covers the rim, and the stummel itself is dressed in the warm auburn stain of the Collection finish, revealing dense licks of flame grain surrounding the bowl.
