This organically inclined bent Dublin from Castello's Great Line boasts the Italian marque's esteemed Fiammata designation, reserved for pipes with particularly stunning flame grain. The Great Line comprises pipes that are a touch larger than Castello's standard offerings and rendered in more stylized shapes, and this piece is no exception. The bowl on this pipe flares outward at the front and back, keeping a slim cross section for an almost-Opera like oval shape, while maintaining the round, conical chamber of the traditional Dublin. The rim is crowned with craggy plateau that creates the impression of an open fan in profile, allowing the briar's namesake flame grain to rush up the stummel and seemingly erupt at the rim. The pipe's heel urges gently forward before sweeping back to slim round shank that transitions to a smoky grey acrylic stem, comfortably bent. Dressed in Castello's glossy Collection finish, the briar is allowed to take center stage, balanced by its stem's fashionably accenting color.
