Castello: Old America 2022 Old Antiquari Billiard (12.20) Tobacco Pipe

A special pipe, this Old America Billiard from Castello is numbered 12 of just 20 in the 2022 series, a tradition the Italian workshop began during the global pandemic. Prior to 2020, Castello crafted a special series each year in honor of the annual IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas, but when COVID-19 put in-person meetings on hold, Castello fired back with the Old America, a single shape writ large and offered in variety of their iconic finishes.

For 2022, Castello has opted for an extra-large rendition of their iconic "67" Billiard, characterized by a towering, plateau-capped bowl with arrow-straight walls, at rest atop a jutting heel and muscular tapered shank. Said shank is flattened at the bottom, making this piece a natural Sitter. The upper portion is softly rounded to create a touch of playful contrast at the rear of the design. Out back, a tapered acrylic stem offers a comfortable smoking posture. Dressed in Castello's Old Antiquari sandblast, the stummel boasts impressive grain patterns all around the bowl. Among the Italian marque's finest and rarest offerings, the 2022 Old America series is one that pipe smokers of all stripes will enjoy.
