This Billiard from Castello is a thoroughly Italian take on the classic shape, presenting a tall, muscular bowl set to a trim shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl's thick, insulating walls and brawny build naturally fill the hand with substance, while the shank-and-stem arrangement's reduced diameter and arrow-straight trajectory keep the shape looking rather sleek in profile. The shank and stem are joined via a military mount, which enables the composition to be easily broken down at any time, even while the pipe is still hot. The Sea Rock rustication dresses the stummel and provides a wealth of craggy texture for the fingers to explore, all beneath a deep, dark, traditional stain, while the shimmering hues of the acrylic stem and mount adding contrast.
