One of Castello's most prolific and elegantly rendered shapes, this bent Dublin possesses a flared rim and lithe taper throughout the bowl that results in a firm, softly rounded heel. As is often the case with the Italian marque's bent designs, this piece features a sinuous, slender shank-and-stem combination, one which strikes a sleek S-curve that offsets some of the bowl's stout proportions in profile, all while offering a comfortable smoking posture. This Sea Rock-finished piece wears a warm, honey-blonde, smooth finish at the shank, highlighting some handsome grain across the flanks, while the bowl is dressed in a craggy rustication that keeps the fingers engaged, the rim's undulating outline and craggy crown reminiscent of plateau. A delightful, lightweight design, this piece conforms quite well to the hand, and it should make a welcome addition to any collector's rotation.
