Castello boasts a pipe-making history that dates back to 1947, when Carlo Scotti established the workshop in Italy. The well-respected shop has since been fashioning high-quality briar into delightfully shaped, finished, precisely engineered smoking instruments that are sought by legions of loyal fans. This 'Castello' Billiard is a fine example of the talents of Castello's artisans, its muscular, thick-walled and Pot-like bowl housing a capacious chamber atop a flattened heel that enables it to sit sturdily upright. The bowl is paired to an abbreviated shank that tapers to a jet-black army mount that's then topped by a push-style stem of the same material, enabling the pipe to be broken down, even when hot. The stummel is dressed in a rich, natural finish, showing off fine grain around the bowl.
