Castello: Aristocratica Bent Apple Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5161
This bent Apple from Castello is quite the interesting piece, as its overall shaping is reminiscent of the Hawkbill shape, with a slight degree of Aquiline curvature about its shank and stem, though not quite enough for it to be pushed fully into the realm of its more sinuous cousin. The entire length of shank and stem are possessed of a continuous taper from the transition to the button, slenderizing their ovoid build a bit and offering a bit of balance when compared to the plump expanse of bowl. Said bowl is almost two inches tall and holds a healthy chamber within its thick insulating walls, and is possessed of a full plumpness that fills out the crevices of your hand and fingers as it is held. A pronounced heel supports this bowl, adding a firmness to the build that contrasts some of the softness present in the rest of its form. The Aristocratica finish dresses the briar here, with the fumed, plateau-crowned rim stained a smoky, inky black that cascades down into the flanks of the bowl, fading into a warm auburn hue.
