Castello: Collection Fiammata Bent Apple (K) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5168
Impressively plump and unabashedly Italian in its execution, this Castello bent Apple is a remarkably bold, muscular take on the traditional shape. This offering most closely corresponds to the workshop's "23" design, with the massive bowl commanding the majority of the visual weight with its powerful presence further accentuated by being paired to a subtly tapering oval shank and ever-so-slightly downturned mouthpiece. Such shaping cues are hallmarks of the Italian neoclassic approach to pipe making, which Castello has been at forefront of for several decades. This example provides plenty of palm-filling substance to enjoy in hand and perfectly exemplifies what a comfort pipe truly is, as the burly bowl should provide an endless supply of reassuring warmth in hand with its thick insulating chamber walls. It's found here finished in one of the workshop's iconic honey-blonde stains, expertly showcasing a lovely array of flame grain and has definitely earned its "Fiammata" stamp.
