Castello: Collection Fiammata Great Line Bent Dublin (KKK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5169
This bent Dublin from Castello is an impressive bit of Italian craftsmanship, presenting a tall, forward-canted bowl that's set to a sinuously bent shank-and-stem arrangement. In typical Italian neoclassical fashion, the hearty bowl holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its steady upward flare and muscular build overshadowing the comparatively slender shank-and-stem arrangement that curves out back. The shank and stem encourage a comfortable smoking posture from which to enjoy the bowl's capacious chamber, while also adding a good deal of gesture to the shape's silhouette. The warm Collection finish dresses the stummel and beautifully showcases tight strands of flame grain as they reach across the bowl's flanks to the plateau-crowned rim. The flame grain here is so impressive that Castello awarded this piece their Fiammata grade, which is reserved for pipes with truly impressive displays of flame grain.--Davin Hylton
