Castello: Collection Fiammata Great Line Bent Dublin (KKKK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5170
As part of the Great Line series, this bent Dublin from Castello boasts a rather impressive build, presenting a bowl over two and a half inches tall and an overall length of six and a half. The bowl flares from its plump, rounded heel to its wide, plateau-crowned rim, and as it does, it produces a cinched waistline that conforms naturally to wrapping-fingers. In typical Italian neoclassical style, the bowl draws most of the visual weight within the composition, its height and thick insulating walls overshadowing the comparatively slender shank-and-stem arrangement that curves out back. The bowl's impressive chamber capacity ensures plenty of leisurely smoking sessions, while the shank-and-stem arrangement's elegant curvature offers a bit of gesture to the form's silhouette. An auburn smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights gorgeous strands of flame grain across the bowl's flanks. The flame grain on display here is so impressive that Castello awarded this pipe their "Fiammata" designation, which denotes pipes with truly exceptional flame grain.--Davin Hylton
