A long, eye-catching take on the classic bent Billiard, this piece from Castello features a tall, muscular bowl that stands the fore of a high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl's tapered sides and firm, pronounced heel bring to mind the Egg shape, albeit a rather muscular one. The shank tapers from the mid-set transition at the bowl's aft and reaches up toward a steeply curved mouthpiece whose posture ensures a comfortable smoking position. The Old Antiquari sandblast dresses the stummel and highlights a fetching showing of grain throughout the briar, its darkly stained rim contrasting the rest of the burl's warm auburn hues.
