Castello: Trademark Bent Billiard (KKKK) Tobacco Pipe

Though Castello no longer stamps their pipes with a shape number, this style of bent Billiard represents what was their "65" design. It showcases a firm-heeled, cylindrical style of bowl, but what I find so distinct is the shank-and-stem combination. An elegant taper informs the shank's lithe, upward curl from the transition, leading into the tapered stem — the flowing curves immediately identifiable as the work of the esteemed Italian workshop. This particular piece wears a dark, chestnut rendition of their revered Trademark finish, showcasing handsome birdseye and flame grain throughout the stummel.
